There is something very rewarding about working for your food – and finding the treasure by yourself! Edamame beans are really fun, will keep your kids occupied and will help add to one of those recommended 5 a day fruit and veggie portions!


Frozen edamame beans


Add frozen edamame beans to boiling water and cook for 2 – 3 minutes.

Tips: Keeping them al dente (slightly undercooked) will help preserve the vitamins and minerals in these beans.

Options: Add a dash of tamari or low salt soy sauce for extra flavour

How kids can help:

  • Opening the pods to find the beans!
