The Best Plum Crumble

Making Plum crumble

Plums are so sweet and juicy right now that we can’t get enough of them. Like pears they are at their best for a short time in the fruit bowl.

This plum crumble is so easy, no rubbing together of butter, messy sifting or dirty hands (unless of course you want that!). It also tastes just as good raw…

800g Stoned, sliced, ripe plums

150g Porridge oats – I like this quick cook, smaller oats

50g Ground almonds

100g Roughly chopped nuts – I like almonds and hazelnuts but any will do. If you have time you could toast these

80g Coconut sugar or brown sugar

80g Coconut oil, melted

A tea spoon of ground cinnamon – optional

Makes 5 disposable foil trays approx. 10 x 12cm which can be frozen

Sliced PLums

  • Allocated the sliced plums between the trays
  • Sprinkle the roughly chopped nuts over the plums
  • Mix the melted coconut oil with the oats, ground almonds, sugar and cinnamon to form your topping
  • Spoon the topping over the plums
  • Cook in a preheated oven at 180˚C for approx. 10-15 minutes until piping hot. Alternatively place a lid of your crumble and freeze
