Sweetcorn is without doubt one of the most fun summer kids’ foods. They are so beautifully sweet at this time of year. Peel back the husks on your ears of corn and tie to make a cool handle and let it cook away on the BBQ. In addition this fantastic vegetable is great for strengthening little mouths. Pop it in a lunch box or dance around the garden, your little one is sure to enjoy it!
A drizzle of olive oil
- Peel back the husks, brush a little olive oil over the sweetcorn and place on the BBQ medium heat – turn regularly to ensure even cooking. Cook until corn is soft approx. 10 – 15 minutes.
- Peel off the husks, cut into smaller chunks and boil until soft approx. 7 – 10 minutes
Tips: Some people like to melt a knob of butter over their perfectly cooked sweetcorn. Others like to rub in spices and a pinch of salt. Personally we love them just as they are!
